#resignation.
The OGs that have been here for over a year now will definitely remeber this song (my birthday day);
“I am 21, going on 22, I know that I have grown.
So much I’ve learnt and so much to still learn, but darling I know good.
I don’t need someone to make me old & wiser, I’ve got my God to do that.
I am 21 going on 22, God will take care of me”.
And that’s the absolute, honest and irrefutable truth that has been shaping my days in recent times.
Funny enough, the number of times I’ve supposedly gotten to the end of my humanly wit and surrendered all to God can’t be compared to the number of times I’ve renounced said surrender and gone back to my stubborn way of leaning on my own limited understanding.
My frustration had known no bounds.
Peace had eluded me and in its stead came a repeated state of unrest and ingratitude.
For the life of me, I just couldn’t look past this frustration to see how beautiful my life actually is.
Anyway, my most recent surrender took a step further.
Added to the mix was the word; RESIGNATION.
I want you to imagine taking a very deep breath, letting it all out and then allowing a small smile play on your lips as you look upon the things that you deeply desire but they aren't under your control.
Yeah, that was the state of resignation I had reached. A state where I had finally taken my hands off the plough to just allow things be.
I was for real this time around.
I could even feel the acceptance sit quietly within my Spirit.
My zenith of futile trails and errors had been reached and in resignation, I had moved to the passenger seat of my life, allowing my Daddy, who is my Driver, lead the way, which was always meant to be the status quo.
Honestly, I can’t put into exact words the level of lightness I feel right now.
I feel free.
I feel less anxious, less bitter, less angry.
I feel less easily irritated or disappointed.
My God, this feels too good to be true.
A whole overthinker that I am, finding it easier to let go of the itch to always bring to fruition all her numerous thoughts???.
Now, that’s some resounding miracle.
And to me, the fact that I had to go through the stages of anger, bitterness, jealousy, comparison, repeated disappointments, and hurt before finally getting to this softened state screams of God's intentionality in regards to my growth.
The word “SERENDIPITY”, according to the understanding I've choosen to adopt means to believe that everything will work out positively.
That’s a really courageous outlook to have concerning the changing seasons of life.
That for every hurt, every rejection, every disappointment, closed door, failed venture or whatever similitude of these events, that a better approach to them is to believe that every experience is coming together to morph me into the bold, powerful, purpose-driven Woman found in the pages of God’s volume of books.
No tear is ever wasted, neither is any heartbreak, loss, failure, or deter.
Every detail is coming together, page by page, day by day, year after year, and in retrospect, I know undoubtedly that I would look back and gratefully see that I am where I used to want to be.
But before I get to my tomorrow, I have to first be at peace with my today.
Right here, on the 7th of June 2026, this is where life is happening in real time.
So, in lieu of living in wistful longing for what’s yet to come whilst simulatenously hating on my today that may be lacking one or two of my deep desires, I am choosing to allow things be.
To allow seasons unfold at God's pace.
To accept my reality as it is and to enjoy this tapestry of life I've been interwoven in.
This is the freedom of surrender.
The last few days leading to my change in age has really brought with them a load of learning, unlearning & relearning.
I’m elated to affirm that I really really love my life, right here, right now.
Outwardly, not much has changed, but between God and I, we both know the changes that have been taking place within.
I believe with every fibre of my being that God’s unforced rhythm of grace is mightily at work in my life, daily leading me in my ordained path while also gravitating my way the things/people that are meant for me.
This is a beautiful start to this new chapter and I'm getting really excited for the things to come.
God's got me and most definitely, whatever comes my way, wherever my path may lead, I know with no iota of doubt that I'll thrive.
My big is on the 9th of June and I'm a proud June baby.
Happy birthday in advance to me.
I love God, I love Me and I love my journey. It's a privilege to be Me and I don’t triviliaze it one bit.
#Shalom.
