SubMas Day 9.
#September.
On the ninth day of SubMas my true love gave to me: A Landmark Miracle.
During the crossover service last year, our General Overseer, Pastor E.A Adeboye had prophesied that we will experience “landmark miracles’’ in the year 2025, both as individuals and also at the family level. We all shouted Amen in faith.
As 2025 started off, things were not looking so miraculous in my family. Yes, there were some noteworthy testimonies here and there, but the “landmark’’ tag wasn’t on them, plus, we had an unfortunate demise of two of our close relatives, so the ambience at the beginning of the year was a bit moody for my family.
For today’s SubMas, I’m going to be dedicating it to my senior sister, Winifred, because her testimony was the highlight of my September.
My Sister has gone through some highs and lows since she graduated university. We’ve counted some beautiful wins and also some not so cute lows that I won’t be going into their details so as to respect her privacy. But, through all these, I’ve watched her come out each time a stronger and a wiser version of herself.
For each of those trying seasons, we had prayed for miracles both personally, and as a family and some of them didn’t come forth. We weren’t aware that God was cooking up something way bigger than our minds could comprehend.
In the last newsletter, I had passively mentioned how God had given her the long-awaited scholarship. That in itself was a huge testimony, cause at the time her letter had come in, the Company was about two weeks past the day they had awarded those that were chosen.
I can vividly remember the evening she had called to tell me that her inbox was still empty and every other person that had won the scholarship had received an email. Her voice was shaky with fear and I could literally hear the tears from my end of the call. At the time she had called, I was knee deep in preparation for an exam I had the following morning. After sharing some encouraging words with her, we ended the call and I quietly excused myself and went to talk things out with my Daddy.
The night was cool and the road was empty which gave me the perfect environment to cry out to God. I had pleaded with Him to please show mercy on my Sister and my family. We needed this big break from all that she’s been through and also from the saddening news that we had been receiving as a family.
After crying, I then switched to praise. I used the sound “Victory Dance’’ by Peterson Okopi to remind myself of God’s track record. Interestingly, the choir at Chapel had ministered this song the very next Sunday and that was the confirmation I needed that God was powerfully breaking protocols behind the scene for our sake.
A few days after this, I was on call at the hospital when my Sister called and excitedly told me that she had received her email from the company. This was, as I said, about two weeks after the awards day and God had indeed broken protocol for her. I screamed, shouted and screamed again and was jumping around with a huge smile on my face.
God did for real.
Now, the scholarship had been awarded and she had gotten her necessary documents. What was left was provision for her travel and the approval of her VISA.
Another round of prayers.
Hey people, I’m very pleased to testify that the first child of my Parents is well settled in the country of her choice, and as at the last time we spoke, which was yesterday, God has added even more blessings to her.
So this was the Landmark Miracle Daddy GO had prophesied over us. WOW.
This testimony was the biggest highlight of my September. God came through in every way possible and had given my family a new song. He had raised men, provided the funds and paved the way for my family to expand beyond the borders of Nigeria.
Only a handful of people will understand the gravity of this testimony. I know firsthand where my family is coming from. I know where God had picked us from and it’s a thing of joy to see that He is faithfully fulfilling his promises to us, one miracle at a time.
I’ve learnt the act of trusting God from years of watching my Parents stand by Him until He brings to pass their visions and desires.
My Parents used to ask us randomly which country we would love to go to further our studies. Before my Sister had travelled out, I used to just indulge them and give a half-hearted reply seeing as the financial state around me wasn’t matching such a dream.
But this has happened and now, I believe more than ever than we can dream and God will fund it.
September was an amazing month, truly amazing. God had held me and patiently waited for me to return to His presence after days of going MIA due to the stress from school work. I’m grateful for His arms that are always open to receive me.
I love Him, I love Me and I love My Daddy, my Mummy, Wini, Rejoice, Zeni and Steve.
Shout out to the Ede Clan, God intentionally picked us to be a family and I'm grateful for us;
Thank you for reading, I pray your day ahead is blessed.
Merry almost Christmas people.
#Shalom.
